Bhubaneswar: The state government Thursday put Collectors of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri, Ganjam and Khurdha districts on alert in view of Cyclonic storm Pabuk forming over South China Sea. The IMD here said Pabuk was formed about 1500-km east-southeast of Port Blair and may move west-northwestwards and emerge into Andaman Sea January 5 morning. The system is likely to move northwestwards and cross Andaman Islands by evening/ night of January 6 before moving towards Myanmar coast January 7 or 8. The Met has also advised fishermen against venturing into the sea.
