Cuttack, May 10: Commissionerate police Sunday arrested eight persons accused of involvement in three separate loot cases under Jagatpur, Choudwar and 42 mouza police limits.
One revolver, one Mauser, three bullets, four motorcycles and `50,000 in cash were seized from their possession, said DCP Sanjeev Arora at a press conference here.
Police officials have said that the police honed in on the accused by tracking the mobile phones that they were using.
About 10 bike-borne miscreants had waylaid Sukhdev Das, branch manager of a finance company, on Krishnapur-Satyabhamapur road in Jagatpur May 3 and robbed him of `1.54 lakh, a cell phone and gold chains at gunpoint.
A special police team raided several places in the city to nab the accused who were absconding after committing the crime, Arora said. The four had several robbery cases lodged against them at different police stations in the city, he said.
