New Delhi: As many as 91 schools from Orissa have now qualified for the final round of selection for availing Central assistance for high tech laboratories under the Atal Innovation Mission, a list from NITI Aayog claims.
As per the latest list, 91 such schools, government as well as private, are in the race for availing assistance for establishment of Atal Tinkering Labs.
The schools which have been picked up by the NITI Aayog included schools from places like Angul, Bolangir, Cuttack, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam and Khurda. From Khurda district, the qualifying schools include Sai International School and Saraswati Sishu Mandir.
Last year, the NITI Aayog had picked up three schools from Orissa for the project which included-DAV Public School Pokhariput, DAV Public School Unit-VIII and DAV Public School, Chandrashekharpur, all from the Capital city.
According to the norms, the selected schools will get grant-in-aid that includes a one-time establishment cost of `10 lakh and operational expenses of `10 lakh for a maximum period of five years to each such lab. These labs contain educational and learning ‘do it yourself’ kits and equipment on – science, electronics, robotics, open source microcontroller boards, sensors and 3D printers and computers.
