New Delhi: Abhay, a 1986-batch Orissa cadre IPS officer, has been appointed by the Union government as the new Director General (DG) of the Narcotics Control Bureau, a notification said Wednesday.
In a notification issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Abhay will take charge of the new portfolio. The IPS officer is currently working as the Additional Director General (ADG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). He had earlier worked as Inspector General (IG) of Bureau of Police Research and Development (BRP&D) in the national capital.
Abhay ,56, had earlier served as the director in the printing, publication and stationery department of the Orissa government, as the ADG in the Crime Branch.
