Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Thursday said that moderate to dense fog is likely to occur in some parts of the costal and interior areas of the state during next two days.
“Moderate to dense fog having visibility of 5 to 15 metres is likely in some places over coastal and interior areas of the state during December 29 and 30,” said Sarat Chandra Sahu, director of Bhubaneswar Met Centre. Rainfall amounting 1 mm to 5 mm is also likely in few places over the state, while it will be a cloudy weather in some places between December 30 and January 2, he said. The ongoing wave of cold wind in state will continue for another day, he said, adding, the cold wave situation will continue to prevail across the state for the next few days. Meanwhile, the state recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 4°C at Darinigibadi, while the temperature at Phulbani was 4.4°C, 7.7°C at Hirakud, 8°C at Bhawanipatna, 9°C each at Bolangir, Sonepur and Sundergarh, the Met department said. Similarly, western Orissa town Sambalpur recorded 9.3 degrees Celsius whereas 9.6 degrees recorded at Angul, 9.7 degrees at Jharsuguda and 10 degrees at Koraput and Titlagarh towns.
