Cuttack: Expressing disappointment over pasting posters on the walls of Sri Jagannath Temple, Justice BP Das Commission of Inquiry for Reforms in Srimandir has issued a notice to the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to submit an explanation on why no FIR has been filed for the offence.
The Srimandir reforms panel has directed the ASI superintendent to clarify the actions taken by the authorities concerned and file a report within 15 days.
The commission has termed the act as a punishable offence under Section 30 of Ancient Monuments and Archeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958.
