New Delhi: The Supreme Court is now all set to hear the bail petition of convicted illegal iron ore miner from Orissa Deepak Gupta.
The apex court has scheduled the hearing of the case the coming Monday when it will hear the arguments of Gupta’s counsel, who had in January asked the court for relief to the illegal mining convict.
Earlier, during the last four hearings of the case, the petitioner had sought frequent adjournments on different grounds. At last the matter was asked by the court to be listed after winter vacations.
Gupta had been charged with illegal mining, extracting and transporting illegal mining produce by conspiring with others. He was also convicted for mining outside his permitted area. His bail plea has already been cancelled by the Orissa High Court.
