Badbil (Keonjhar): Forest officials Sunday arrested a man and his nephew on the charge of poaching a boar at Thakurani reserve forest here. The accused were Mangal Munda and his nephew Motu Munda.
The officials said they seized from them a board used for the illegal act, as also a sharp-edged weapon used for cutting the meat.
According to sources, the two spread trap in the reserve forest at night and caught boar. Later, they sold the meat at premium rates in the village.
Acting on a tip-off, forest officials held a raid at their house and made the arrest, Badbil divisional forest officer Padmanav Rout said.
A case was registered and the two were produced in court.
