Ganjam: A forester was killed after the vehicle he was travelling in rammed into a truck on National Highway-16 near Paintola square here in Ganjam district Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Saroj Kumar Samal, forester in Jeypore.
Sources said the incident occurred while Samal was on his way to Bhubaneswar from Jeypore. His vehicle rammed into a truck after he lost balance on the wheels and sustained critical injuries. Police with the help of locals rescued him and admitted to Chhatrapur sub-divisional hospital where he succumbed to the injuries during treatment.
The body was seized and sent for post-mortem while a probe was on. Meanwhile, the truck was absconding after the incident.
