Jajpur: The regional transport officer at Chandikhole here was caught in a soup after the joint secretary, commerce and transport department issued him a show-cause notice over the delay in relieving a motor vehicle inspector from the office, a report said.
The joint secretary in his letter (3343, dated-1.05.2018) has asked the RTO Lalmohan Sethy of action on the basis of government norms if he fails to reply to the notice within a week as to why the MVI was not relieved in time within a week.

The MVI Bikash Chandra Choudhruy was promoted to the post of RTO and transferred to the regional transport office in Balasore December 20. The RTO Lal Mohan Sethy did not pay any heed to his transfer order and relieved Choudhury 11-days after the order.
Sethy’s negligence and highhandedness did not go down well with the senior transport authorities. Earlier, he was issued show cause notice asking him to clarify on the delay January 4, 2018. However, Sethy remained silent and did not file any replay on the issue.
The joint secretary mentioned that Sethy has remained silent on the issue despite an earlier letter issued to him three months back.
