Kendrapara: Tension prevailed high at Rajnagar area in this district after the video of a minor girl being threatened and stripped by some anti-socials went viral on social media.
The incident occurred while the girl had gone to a beach with her friend on the occasion of Raja. Finding the couple alone, some youths threatened them and assaulted her friend.
The accused then stripped the girl and took nude pictures besides taking her video that went viral on social media.
Based on a complaint from the victim’s father, the police registered a case and launched a probe.
According to the complainant, the girl had gone to Pentha Sea Beach in Rajnagar area for a tour with her male friend.
Meanwhile, some unknown persons, around six in number, surrounded the two, thrashed the girl, stripped her and took photos.
In the video, the wrongdoers can be seen forcing the girl to strip while her friend is pleading with the youths to spare them.
“A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. The accused will be apprehended soon,” said a police official.
A few days back, a video of a couple being forced to kneel inside a temple in Nayagarh district had gone viral.
