Jagannathprasad: A man was bludgeoned to death by his elder brother with a crowbar over a petty family dispute at Puruna Gochabadi village under Jagannathprasad block in Ganjam district Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Purushottam Behera (50). The accused are Behera’s elder brother, sister-in-law and nephew.
Based on a complaint by Behera’s wife, the police registered a case and detained three persons.
According to reports, Behera had an altercation with his elder brother over some issue. Later the accused along his wife and son attacked Behera with sharp-edged weapons and crowbar.
His family members took Behera to the Jagannathprasad community health center, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
The body was seized and sent for post-mortem.
