Bhanjanagar: Tarasingh police rescued a three-and-half-year-old boy who was kidnapped by some miscreants from Gayaganda bus stand in Ganjam district early Saturday morning.
“We have handed over the boy to his family,” said IIC P K Sahu.
According to reports, the boy, son of Gaura Senapati from Karasingi village near Buguda, was playing with his friends Friday evening. Suddenly, some miscreants took the boy with them.
While the family members were searching for the boy, Gaura got a phone call from the miscreants at 10 pm, saying that they have kidnapped his son. They also said their location was in Bhubaneswar.
A worried Gaura immediately informed the Buguda police about the incident.
However, for some unknown reasons, the miscreants left the boy at Gayaganda bus stand at 11 pm and fled.
Some locals noticed the boy, who spent the whole night weeping at the bus stand, and informed the police by 4 am.
The police could not identify the boy immediately, but a call from Tarasingh police helped trace the whereabouts of the minor.
