Baripada: A youth allegedly killed his wife and threw her body into a well at Potaldiha village near Kaptipada in Mayurbhanj district.
The accused Balaram Mohapatra allegedly killed his wife Sashmita Sahu to continue his illicit relationship with another woman.
As per the complaint filed by Sashmita’s parents, the couple used to have regular fights over Balaram’s illicit relationship. A similar brawl occurred again Friday following which Balaram killed his wife.
Her parents also alleged that their daughter was brutally beaten before murder.
However, Balaram refuted all allegations and said Sashmita fell into the well when she was taking water.
