Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for 11 districts Sunday.
People in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Rayagada have been asked to remain alert till noon.
Moreover, several parts of Odisha will also continue to receive heavy rainfall under the impact of low pressure over North-West Bay of Bengal that turned into a depression Saturday.
Met sources further informed that Nuapada, Bargarh, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda will experience heavy to very heavy rain Sunday.
Heavy rain Saturday had also adversely affected normal life across the state with Kalahandi, Khurda, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Puri, Cuttack and Rayagada districts receiving heavy rainfall. At least 16 blocks of these districts recorded more than 200 mm rainfall with Puri recording maximum 322 mm rainfall.
