Rourkela: In a tragic incident, a journalist died and his daughter injured in a head-on collision in Sundergarh district Sunday morning near Kuanrmunda on Biramitrapur-Rourkela route at around 10.00 am.
The deceased was identified as Sanjay Roul, 37, a journalist of an Odia daily.
According to sources, the Sanjay was travelling with his daughter in a WagonR from Biramitrapur to Rourkela when a truck collided head-on with the car. While Sanjay died on the spot, his daughter was rushed to the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Rourkela as her condition is stated to be critical.
The driver of the truck fled the spot after the accident occurred. The police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving.
Meanwhile, the police have sent the body for postmortem.
