Bhadrak: Mystery shrouds the death of fisherman who drowned in the sea near Dhamra Port Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Sarat Mahalik, Jamajhadi village near Naranpur of the Bhadrak district.
However, the exact reason behind has not been known yet, locals say that Sarat allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the sea from his fishing boat.
Local fishermen said, Sarat had boarded a boat namely ‘Pancharatna’ of a Kashaphala based company for fishing in the Saturday morning. However, during fishing he slipped off the boat and fell into the water and drowned.
The body of the victim was fished out of the water by fishermen immediately and was brought to the coast.
Dhamara Marine Police reached the spot and seized the body and sent it for autopsy.
Police is investigating into the matter.
