Bhanjanagar: A lady lecturer was allegedly misbehaved with and passed on lewd comments by students at Bhanjanagar Kabisamrat Upendra Bhanja College here in Ganjam district Saturday morning.
The incident spread tension in the college after the lecturer brought up allegations against the students before the college principal. Soon after, a council meet was called in the college where other staff demanded action against the errant students.
Later, a complaint was lodged with Bhanjanagar police in the evening. After getting the complaint, IIC Biswajit Kumar Routroy reached the college and recorded the statements of the students.
According to the complainant, some boys were having fun in the college corridor when the lecturer happened to pass that way after taking a class. When the lady objected, the boys allegedly passed lewd comments on her and threatened her with obscene gestures.
Panicked, she rushed to the lecturer’s common room and informed other staff.
