Mohana: A youth Saturday night raped a minor girl in Dekapanka village under Adaba police limits in Gajapati district.
The matter came to the fore after the victim informed her family members about the incident on the same night. The victim’s father lodged a complaint with the police Sunday morning.
According to the complainant, the girl had gone to Paniganda weekly market Saturday. The accused Enterio Parichha waylaid her when she was returning home.
He forcibly took her to a nearby forest where he outraged her modesty. Later, he left the girl alone in the forest and fled the spot. The girl walked back home and narrated her ordeal before her parents.
Police took the victim for medical examination and launched a manhunt to nab the accused who has been on the run.
