Cuttack, Dec 8: Noted film actress Jyotsna Satapathy, popularly known as Mamina, died due to cardiac arrest at her Shankarpur residence here Monday. She was 48. She was a diabetic and suffering from high blood pressure. It was around 6 pm when Mamina was rushed to SCB where doctors declared her dead.
She began her career at Annapurna theatre and performed in about 150 Oriya films and TV serials. ‘Gouri’ was her first movie which was released in 1978. ‘Haarjeet’ was her last movie and Tulasi was the last serial. She carved a niche in comedy and other character roles. Subarna Sita, Chinha Achinha, Jhiati Sita Pari, Mathura Bijay, Sata Michha, Thili Jhia Heli Bohu, Chha Maana Atha Guntha and Jaga Hathare Pagha were some of her movies that went on to win the hearts of millions. pnn
