Bhubaneswar: Miscreants opened fire at a hotel owner near Kalinga Studio Square under Khandagiri police limits Thursday evening.
According to police sources, the fast food shop owner, identified as Nilu Mallick, saved himself by ducking the gun shot. The bullet hit the interior wall of the shop. Sources said the miscreants, who had gone to the eatery, engaged in a heated exchange with Nilu over delay in serving them the food they had ordered. One of them later opened fire at Nilu. On being informed, police reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
However, some locals said they witnessed two rounds of gunfire at the spot. Nilu escaped while another person sustained bullet injuries. He was rushed to the nearest private hospital.
