Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants torched five vehicles of former BJP Corportaor Lala Ashok Kumar Ray parked at his residence in Kharvel Nagar area here late Tuesday night.
According to reports, Ray and his family members were fast asleep after having dinner Tuesday night.
However, they rushed outside the house at around 1.30 am after hearing a blast and found their vehicles including, two motor bikes, two scooty and a car on fire.
“People are not safe in Kharvel Nagar now. The miscreants have damaged vehicles completely. Had the house caught fire, we all would have died,” said Ray.
On getting information, the Kharvel Nagar police rushed to the spot and started investigation.
Meanwhile, it is yet to be ascertained whether the motive behind the act is political or personal enmity.
