Pallahara: Police have arrested a youth identified as Kalia Mahakud on the charge of rape while two of his accomplices and co-accused are absconding.
The incident was reported from Pallahara block in Angul district.
According to sources, Kalia and the victim were in a love relationship. The girl had gone out of her house October 30 night when Kalia took her to a secluded place where the latter along with his two friends identified as Hemant Mahakud and Dushasan Sitari took turns to rape her. Later, they left the girl in an unconscious state and fled the spot.
After regaining consciousness, the victim returned to her house next morning and narrated her ordeal before the family members.
The family members lodged a complaint with Pallahara police following which a case was registered against Kalia and his two friends.
