Malkangiri: Another bear was caught after it got stuck in a trap laid for boars near Mallikeswar hill in Malkangiri district Thursday morning.
According to reports, locals after hearing the animal’s roaring, spotted the bear which was trying to free itself from the trap that was laid for catching wild boar. Later, the locals informed the forest officials.
The forest officials reached the spot and tried to rescue the bear but it turned aggressive.
Later, a team from Nabarangpur was called up to tranquilise the bear.
“The bear can only be rescued after tranquilising it,” said a forest official.
A few days ago, a wild bear was caught in a trap laid for boars at Nilagiri area in Balasore district.
