Bhubaneswar: South Asia Communication Conference on Media and the Marginalized Communities organized by KIIT School of Mass Communication was inaugurated here recently.
Inaugurating the conference Biswajit Das, President, All India Communion and Media Association said, “We have to empower by communication to get connected with the nation. KIIT has become a gateway to understand South Asia.” Vibodh Parthasarathi, In-Charge of Centre for Culture, Media & Governance, Jamia Millia Islamia said, “Mass Communication is a developing field across existing Institutions.”
In his presidential address, Hrushikesha Mohanty, VC, KIIT (Deemed to be University) said, “Communication can be a way of building trust. It is the fundamental mode of transfer of knowledge. Communication and communicator are wave length to accept each other. In the context of technology, it is providing people to communicate through the pangs of nostalgia of yesteryears.”
Sasmita Samanta, Registrar, KIIT (Deemed to be University), emphasised on indigenous communication and said, “Often, words are not required for communication. Moreover, communication is being transferred from one generation to another. The basic core of society is the base of all communications.”
In his welcome address, Bidu Bhusan Dash, Course Coordinator, KIIT School of Mass Communication said, “South Asia Communication Conference is the annual event of KIIT School of Mass Communication. The focus of the conference is confined to Communication Studies and Journalism. Ruby Nanda, Faculty Associate, KIIT School of Mass Communication proposed the vote of thanks.
