Cuttack: A nine-day rural innovation programme organised by International Public school of Rural Innovation (IPSFRI) in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi has been kick started o at Baral village of 42 Mouza in Cuttack recently.
A team of 5 people from VSSUT Burla working with IPSFRI will mentor the programme with Anil Pradhan who is the founder member of the organisation (IPSFRI). For Pradhan, education is a wonderful gift which should be distributed rather than burdening parents.
Interacting with Orissa Post, Shakti Mohanty, Programme leader, said, “Rural India has got enormous scope for learning things on field. In fact I feel at least one practical course on rural development should be introduced into the professional curriculum in India.”
Technical head Shashank Tripathy stressed on the need for ground zero research in the fields of education, basic amenities, sanitation, building structures, production process and environment among others.
Ten selected researchers from IIT New Delhi are here to do the ground research and they will suggest possible solutions relating to rural India using technology and innovation.
Finally, the research report would be sent to government officials at State and Centre. The team will also present the report to the CM of Odisha. In Fact, International Public school of Rural Innovation is strictly following the agenda of Seventeen sustainable development goals espoused by the United Nations.
