Bhubaneswar: Two bike-borne miscreants Thursday snatched a bag containing cash worth Rs 1 lakh from a person near Capital police station here Thursday. The act has been caught in the CCTV cameras installed on the premises of a nearby shop.
According to sources, the victim Prasant Kumar Swain is a city-based contractor and was visiting his younger brother’s hardware shop to procure equipment. Hence, he was carrying Rs 1 lakh in a bag. After parking his vehicle, when Swain was walking towards the hardware shop, bike-borne miscreants snatched the bag and fled. Swain claimed that the bag also contained many valuable documents.
Later, he lodged a complaint with the Capital police, who have started an investigation into the matter. The police have also examined the store’s CCTV footage.
