Bhadrak: As many as 45 rooms of 23 families were reduced to ashes after a massive fire broke out at Guhalia village under Bhandaripokhari block in Bhadrak district late Monday night.
Eight cows, tied in a shed were also burnt alive.
The incident occurred while Sarat Rout and his family members were fast asleep after dinner. Fire from an unknown source broke out at their house. Soon after, the fire soon spread to 45 houses nearby, reducing the belongings to ashes.
Apart from eight cattle, over seven bikes and cash have been gutted in the fire. On being informed, Bhandaripokhari fire personnel reached the spot and doused the fire.
