Dharakote: In a shocking incident, a cashier of an Andhra Bank branch at Mundamarai village under Dharakote police limits in Ganjam district was beaten to death by few persons over an alleged love affair, here Wednesday. The cashier has been identified as Binaya Behera of Chhatrapur.
According to sources, Behera resided in a quarter provided by the bank in Mundamarai village. During his stay, he had established a relationship with a girl of that village. Sources said the family members of the girl were against the relationship. They had called Binaya for a discussion Tuesday evening. When he arrived they beat him to death and dumped his body in a field.
Locals spotted Behera’s body lying in a pool of blood today morning and informed the police. The body was seized and sent for autopsy. Meanwhile, police have detained few persons and have initiated further investigation into the matter.
