Bhubaneswar: The Quick Action Team of Commissionerate Police along with Sahid Nagar Police Monday arrested a drug peddler from a rented house at Tankapani Road in city here. The accused has been identified as Sibabrata Patanaik alias Pintu, 28, a resident of Unit I in Bapuji Nagar area.
According to sources, acting on a tip-off, the joint team of QAT and Sahid Nagar Police carried out a raid at a rented house in Tankapani area and arrested Patanaik. The sleuths seized contraband brown sugar weighing 20 grams worth around Rs 1.50 lakhs. The sleuths also seized Rs 10,300 cash, two mobile phones and a motor cycle from his possession.
Sahid Nagar Police produced him before the court after registering a case (88/19) under sections 21-B under the NDPS Act.
