Kujang: Love knows no boundary, religion, caste or any social obstructions. People in love can go to any extent to be with their beloveds. Such is the power of Love.

This saying has been rightly proved by a Canadian woman who has left behind her luxurious life and reached all the way to a remote village under Kujang block in Jagatsinghpur district to be with her love. Finding her true love, Helen, eldest daughter of Mark Williams and Iren Williams, has sacrificed her cozy lifestyle to be with her love, Lee Nanda, son of retired Air Force officer Hrusikesh Nanda of Kothi Brahman Sasan village under Kujang block.

Smile in the faces of the couple during their marriage ceremony made people to people in the happily ever after, shown in Bollywood movies. The duo seemed much in love as they took the vows as husband and wife.

The marriage of the two ‘lovebirds’ has become talk of the town.

According to reports, Lee, after his studies has been working in Canada since last seven years. It was at a coffee shop that he first met Helen and was mesmerized with her, Lee recalls.

He gathered some courage and initiated a conversation with Helen and the two struck a cord. Soon after, their chats turned into frequent meetings and did not take much for them to understand that the two was made for each other.

Helen is a scientist in Environment and Climate Change Canada while her father also is a scientist.

“The first time we met, we found a good connection. After spending time with him, I was sure that he was the one, made for me. I knew I wanted to spend all my life with him. I introduced him to my parents and he was their favourite. He also talked to his parents and everyone agreed. I feel god has given me beautiful soul as my life partner,” Helen quips.

“I love my life with Lee. I wouldn’t exchange it for anything in the world,” she was quoted as saying.

“I’m happy that I got Helen as my wife. We haven’t decided whether we will stay back in the village or will continue with our jobs in Canada. Currently, we will pursue our jobs, but we will try to find time to fly back to Odisha every year and spend time with family,” Lee said.

Worth mentioning, a youth of Kandhamal district had recently married a girl from Sweden in Australia. The increasing trend of foreign ladies becoming Indian ‘bahus’ proves that Indian culture and tradition is loved by one and all.
