New Delhi, May 4: Young artistes from Orissa and Delhi enthralled the packed audience at an evening of Odissi dance at the Kamani auditorium in the national capital.
The event titled Su Tarang, which was organised Sunday by Utsav, an academy of Odissi dance, was held as part of efforts to promote Odissi dance.
Ranjana Gauhar, a recipient of the Padma Shri, presented specially choreographed dance sequences that were performed by her disciples.
The performances presented beautiful glimpses of various facets of Odissi dance and the persona of an artist who is involved with traditional etiquettes of Orissa.
“I feel good to participate in Odissi dance. I have been practicing under Ranjana Gauhar . We are able to connect to the rich culture of Orissa by performing this dance,” said Alia Patnaik, a young dancer.
