Cuttack, May 8: The Orissa High Court Thursday directed the syllabus committee of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Orissa to submit a report regarding poor performance of Oriya students in national-level tests such as B Tech and MBBS examinations.
Taking up a suo motu petition filed by the court, a bench comprising acting Chief Justice Pradip Mohanty and Justice Biswajit Mohanty directed the syllabus committee to submit the report detailing the differences between Central Board of Secondary Education and CHSE syllabi.
The CHSE secretary appeared before the court in deference to an earlier order.
Raising concerns at the poor show by Oriya students, the petition prayed the court to direct the government to make the syllabus equivalent to that of the CBSE.
