Sajanagad/Chandbali: The BJP is bracing up a rally for merger of workers and leaders from other parities in Nilagiri Assembly segment Saturday.
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will attend the rally at Stadium Ground.
It is said that over 600 leaders and party workers will join the BJP. The saffron party’s MP nominee Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Nilagiiri MLA candidate Sukant Nayak will be present.
Nayak’s supporters and sympathisers in other parties will merge with the BJP. The merger is said to boost the electoral prospects of both Sarangi and Nayak.
Meanwhile, the party held Misranparba (merger meeting) at Digachia under Chandbali block in Bhadrak district Friday.
Scores of people drawn from 36 panchayats and wards under the NAC joined the saffron party. It was conducted under the supervision of former BJD leader Pratap Dhal. Veteran leader Damodar Rout attended the meeting said that the BJD has turned into ‘Naveen Janata Dal’.
BJP vice-president Baijayant Panda spoke on the occasion and said that the BJD government needs to be overthrown.
