Bhubaneswar, May 15: The state government Friday launched an online service system to verify authenticity of higher educational certificates.
“With the launch of this online service, anyone can verify the authenticity of Plus II, Degree, PG, M Phil and Ph D certificates issued by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and state run-universities,” said higher education minister Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy while launching the service.
The service can be availed by paying a fee of just Rs 50. It used to take 40 to 60 days for manual verification of certificates, while with the implementation of new system the same will be possible within 12 working days, Panigrahy said.
To verify the certificates, applicants have to log on to http://serviceonline.gov.in/ and register with ServicePlus, higher education secretary GK Dhal said.
This service is one among 161 services identified by the department under Orissa Right to Public Services Act, 2012.
The department has identified seven other such services that will go online in the next six months, Dhal said.
The seven services to be made online including issuance of Plus II pass certificates, Plus II leaving certificates, provisional pass certificates and mark sheets by universities, migration certificates, college leaving certificates, no objection certificate (NOC) and disposal of memorandum with regard to block grant and other matters.
Meanwhile, the department has made its scholarship programme ‘Medhabruti’ online. The minister launched the website www.medhabruti.org through which students can get information about the scholarship and register their names. Non-technical students can register through junior merit (Plus II course), senior merit (Plus III course) and PG merit scholarships available on the website, Panigrahy said,
Similarly, technical, medical, management and other professional course students can also apply for availing this opportunity as per the norms. Special girls’ merit scholarship for technical and professional courses will also be awarded to girls students. A total of 24,544 students are getting financial benefits under the programme every year.
