Keonjhar: Congress activists Monday urged the Election Commission to declare nine booths of Gadabandhagada panchayat in Ghasipura Assembly constituency as “sensitive”. The constituency is going to poll April 23 in the third phase of elections.
The Congress workers in a complaint to the EC suspected rigging and booth-capturing by rival parties might disrupt polling process in booth No. 281 and 282 of Gadabandhagada, No.283 of Narada, No. 255 of Padilo, No.256 of Dantia, No. 279 and 280 of Suanlo, No. 278 of Krushnapur and No. 277 of Kantabania.
The activists also demanded adequate security at these sensitive booths.
Legislator Badri Naryan Patra who had won four times from the constituency is considered influential in these sensitive areas.
