Nimapara: An 11-member team of Central departments visited villages of Nimapara block to assess the damage caused by cyclonic storm Fani that lashed Odisha coast May 3.
The team visited Bamnal and Nuasiju gram panchayats and took stock of the devastation wreaked by Fani. Members of the team talked to villagers and enquired about the relief provided by the state government.
The team also enquired about restoration work taken up in Nimapara area.
Special relief officer for Nimapara Kanhu Charan Mallick, Nimapara tehsildar Kamaljit Dash, block development officer Sridhar Biswal and block assistant engineer Ajay Pradhan were present during the central team’s visit.
