Mumbai: Ranu Mondal is living example of how a common person’s life can take a turn overnight, thanks to social media. Through her voice, Ranu has already become an ‘Internet sensation’.
Ranu’s song also reached stars of Hindi film industry, following which singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya gave her an opportunity to sing in his film. But prior to that, there came another man who is nothing short of an angel for Ranu.

Ranu used to sing at Ranaghat station in West Bengal which was witnessed by many, but forgotten by all. Ranu often sang old songs. In her viral video, she is seen singing Lata Mangeshkar’s song ‘Ek Pyar Ka Nagma’.
One day when Ranu was chanting out a popular number, Atindra Chakraborty, who was present in the station, made a video of her song. Atindra shared the video on social media and the rest is history. Atindra was also in the studio when Ranu was recording the song for Himesh.
Atindra himself cannot believe how one of his videos changed a woman’s life. Atindra thanked Himesh Reshammiya for giving Ranu a chance. Worth mentioning, Atindra is a software engineer by profession and lives in Ranaghat.
In Himesh’s next film ‘Happy Hardy and Heer’, Ranu has sung a song called ‘Teri Meri Kahani’. Himesh has also shared a video from the recording studio. Himesh is seen guiding her during the recording in the video.
