Bhubaneswar, July 25: Nearly 37,000 candidates across 43 centres in three cities of the state — Bhubaneswar, Rourkela and Berhampur — have taken the re-examination of the All India Pre-Medical and Pre-Dental Test (AIPMT) that was held Saturday.
The re-examination, which began at 10 am, lasted for three hours and ended at 1 pm. Candidates reported as early as 8:30 am for the examination that consisted of one paper of 180 objective type questions spanning physics, chemistry and biology.
“I have tried not to repeat the mistakes that I made in the last test. I hope that I will be able to clear the examination this time,” said Akash Bhoi, a candidate from Sambalpur who appeared for the test here.
Officials of the board took several measures to ensure that the test was conducted smoothly, including frequent security checks. This, however, caused some discontent among the students. “It is terrible that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) held the examination under such stringent conditions. This is the first time that I have sat for an examination under such conditions,” said a candidate.
