Angul: A mutilated body of a youth was found in an abandoned well at Natada village under Angul police limits in Angul district Wednesday morning.
The deceased person has been identified as Panchu (35), son of Mahadev Khatua, a resident of Angul.
According to police officials, the youth had gone missing since Tuesday evening. Some local residents first spotted the body floating in the abandoned well Wednesday morning before alerting the deceased’s family and local police. On being informed, Angul police reached the spot and recovered the body.
A probe has been initiated into the matter by Angul police and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
The family of the deceased suspects a murder. They allege that someone has disposed off the body in the well after murdering Panchu.
The exact reason behind the act is yet to be ascertained.
