Udala: Three years after a minor was gangraped by her boyfriend and his aides on the pretext of marriage, two accused were arrested in Udala area of Mayurbhanj district Sunday. However, the main accused is still absconding.
Reports said a team of police officials from Udala raided Narsinghpur under Nilgiri police limits late night September 28. They arrested Ranjit Singh (36) of Narsinghpur and Iswar Jena (37) of Kadala.
The two accused were medically examined and produced in court.
According to sources one Ranjan Singh lured the minor girl into a relationship on the promise of marriage in 2016. Later, he took the girl to Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh. Ranjan, along with his two friends, gang raped her in a rented house for 12 days.
They were returning home, when the girl managed to escape at Udala. A complaint was lodged with Udala police.
