Kendrapara: With an aim to curb criminal activities on arterial roads of Kendrapara township, the district police has put the roads here under CCTV surveillance.
Superintendent of Police Niti Sekhar said as the coastal town is crime prone and communally sensitive, the police have installed CCTVs at several sensitive locations.
As many as 36 CCTV cameras were installed at 12 prominent and sensitive locations of the town. A control room in this regard has been set up at old bus stand. Special police personnel have been posted at the control room to monitor activities on busy roads, added Niti Sekhar.
Surveillance has been jacked up keeping in view the forthcoming Gaja Laxmi Puja, a major festival in the town.
