Kendrapara: A man has been detained by the cops for allegedly kidnapping two school-going girls in Kendrapara district Tuesday.
The detention follows a case of abduction that was lodged at Kendrapara police station earlier in the day.
According to a police official, the girls – students of Class-V and Class-III — were on their way to the school in the morning when they were offered a motorcycle ride by a man who promised to drop them at school.
That said, they were not dropped at the school. The family members of the minors lodged a complaint with Pattamundai police in this connection following which the cops launched a search operation.
Luckily, locals of Khetrapala village in the district managed to stop the man and detain him while he was kidnapping the girls on his motorcycle. The locals later handed the accused young man and the girls over to the police.
