Bolangir: A clerk of the Labour Department has been caught on camera while demanding and accepting a bribe from a person in Bolangir district Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Ballabh Nag, a clerk of Labour Department in Bolangir district.
According to a social activist who was present at the spot during the incident, Nag demanded Rs 1000 from a person to issue labour licence chalan. The social activist recorded the entire scenario on camera and later, the video has been uploaded on social media.
Following which a senior official of the Labour Department stated that stringent action will be taken against the accused clerk as per the government directives and principles.
Notably, a clerk of Haladia community health centre (CHC) had been arrested for accepting bribe to issue a death certificate back in September.
