Keonjhar: In a tragic incident, a youth met his watery grave after slipping into a pond in Purumunda village under Pandapada police limits in Keonjhar district Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Jatikrushna Behera, a resident of the same village.
According to the family members of the deceased, Jatikrushna went to attend nature’s call Thursday night and didn’t return till late. When he did not return, his parents started looking for him. Later, some locals spotted Jatiktushna’s body floating in a pond.
Jatikrushna was taken to Harichandanpur Community Health Centre (CHC). However, doctors declared him brought dead.
The parents lodged a complaint with the cops citing foul play regarding Jatikrushna’s death and a probe has been launched by the police.
A pal of gloom has descended on the village post the mishap.
