Bolangir: Four armed miscreants looted Rs. 1.38 lakh from a gas agency owner near Jharani bus stand on Turekela-Kantabanji road in Bolangir district, Thursday afternoon. The person who has been robbed has been identified as Khirodh Meher.
The incident happened, when Meher was going to the bank on his bike to deposit the said amount after closing the shop. The miscreants also on motorcycles waylaid him and decamped with his bag of cash. They also snatched Meher’s mobile phone while he was trying to resist their burglary attempt.
Meher lodged a FIR with Turekela police later in the day. However, till the time of filing this report no arrest has been made.
Meher in his FIR said the miscreants assaulted him with a blunt weapon following which he fell on the road.
Police said an investigation has been launched into the incident and police are trying to identify the criminals from the available CCTV footage.
