Mumbai: TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee turns a year older today (Saturday). Devolina has a huge fan base due to her acting skills. She shot to fame after portraying the role of ‘Gopi Modi’ in the Star Plus drama series Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. On Devoleena’s birthday, let us tell you some interesting things related to her.
Devoleena was born August 22 1985 to a Bengali family in Assam. She did her schooling from Godhula Brown Memorial English High School in Sivasagar, Assam and her higher studies from the National Institute of Fashion and Technology in New Delhi.
Devoleena initially worked as a jewellery designer in Gili India Ltd here. She first appeared on the small screen in Season 2 of the reality show Dance India Dance.
After this, Devoleena started her acting journey in the year 2011. She made her debut in the 2011 TV serial Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto. Just a year later, the most important turning point in Devoleena’s career came when she got the opportunity to work in the serial Saath Nibhana Saathiya in 2012.
Giaa Manek was replaced by Devoleena in Saath Nibhana Saathiya. She was in the lead role in this serial. Devoleena worked for five years in the serial and she became famous as Gopi Bahu. She then worked in several TV serials including Diya Aur Baati Hum, Ye Hai Mohabbatein and Laal Ishq.
Last year, Devoleena became part of Season 13 of the reality show Bigg Boss. She was in headlines while she was on the show, but due to health problems, she had to leave in the middle. Devoleena has won the hearts of viewers due to her performances on the small screen and has bagged several awards. She has won the ‘Indian Tele Award’, ‘Big Star Entertainment Award’ and ‘Zee Gold Award’.
