Koraput: Police recovered the bodies of a woman and her two children from a well under mysterious circumstances in ward no-13 under Kotpad NAC in Koraput district Friday morning.
According to a source, the woman and her husband often fought over family issues. Thursday evening, they again entered into a verbal duel following which the woman left the house taking her 12-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter with her.
The trio did not return home that night.
Some villagers first spotted the bodies in the well Friday morning. They immediately informed Kotpad police who reached the spot after a while. With the help of fire services personnel and villagers, they brought out the bodies from the well and sent them for postmortem.
While the local people were of the opinion that the woman along with her two children had jumped into the well, police have launched an investigation. They have detained the husband of the deceased woman for interrogation, it was learnt.
