Angul: The Vigilance sleuths simultaneously raided four houses of junior engineer Basant Kumar Bastia working in Rural Development department at Boinda section in Angul district Wednesday.

Locations raided by the anti-corruption wing included a double storied residential building including another four-storied building of Bastia and a house of his relative, at Sithala village under Niali police limits in Cuttack district. His office and official residence at Badahulla village of Boinda area in Angul district was also raided in the morning.
Houses of the officer at different locations were raided on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income. Several important documents have been seized during the raid and more details will be available only after completion of the raids, the Vigilance officials informed. The raids were underway till writing of this report.
Total valuation of Bastia’s movable and immovable properties is yet to be ascertained, the sleuths expressed.
