You must have often seen that the trees along roadsides are painted white and red. This method of painting the bottom of the trees is quite old.
But have you ever thought about why they are painted? Well, there are many scientific reasons behind this.
The aim behind this is to give more strength to the trees. You must have noticed that cracks occur in the trees due to which the trees start becoming weak. In this case, they are painted to strengthen them. Paint also increases the lifespan of the trees.
Also, one of the other motives behind painting trees is to avoid termites or insects. These insects hollow out any tree from inside but the paint does not allow them to do so.
Painting the trees also improves their safety. This is an indication that those trees are in the eye of the forest department and cannot be harvested. In some places only white paint is used to paint the trees, but in many places red and blue colors are also used.
The trees along the road of the National Highway are also painted white, so that in the darkness of night, these trees can be easily seen.
